You must be a Practicing Healthcare Practitioner to be eligible for an observership. There are other criteria in order to meet the eligibility requirements. Observerships are not recognized training, thus the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology is not involved in facilitating these arrangements. Arrangements for observerships can be made through the Hamilton teaching hospitals: Hamilton Health Sciences and St. Joseph’s Healthcare Hamilton.
Please refer to the Observership Policy at McMaster University.
The department of Obstetrics & Gynecology DOES NOT support observerships for undergraduate and postrgraduate medical students. This experience is only offered as an Elective.
For undergraduate students interested in job shadowing, visit the HHS site for more info, but please note, these opportunities are not available in Obstetrics & Gynecology.
